Meet The Owner

Matt discovered his passion for music when he wrote his first song at 10 years old. It was that first song that would start his life’s work of creating and performing music. His passion evolved further in high school when his mentor and friend, Harley McLain, graciously drove him 10 hours to record at a studio in Bozeman, MT called Peak Recording. This was when and where Matt realized that the studio is where he wanted to be.

Out of high-school Matt pursued an education at the Institute Of Production and Recording where he received an Associates degree in audio engineering. While in college Matt worked hard by playing in bands, freelancing as an audio engineer, and continuing to make records of his original songs. Using the experience he gained Matt opened Tonal Control, where he now works tirelessly to help other artists achieve their musical vision. Having been on both sides of the recording process as an artist and an engineer, Matt strives to create a supportive and productive environment.
